Prize For The Reckless, you mean?
This isn't about the main game, it's about a demo level for a project. More on that is in the first post.

X and Y are coordinates inside a room, in pixels. For reference, rooms are 320x240 pixels.

What path does VVVVVV give in the player levels menu?

Since the source is released, sure. As far as I remember it's much easier to find the percentage value being compared without anything like debug symbols or the source code since VVVVVV displays the percentage, so you know what to search for in some memory analysis tool (on Windows I used Cheat Engine and on Linux I'm pretty sure I used gdb in some way).

Alright, welcome back!

For becoming a contributor, we want to see any level you made that demonstrates at least basic ability to make rooms and script. It can be a level you already made, and there doesn't have to be a lot of effort put into it; the bar is not that high.

Also, to becoming a tester there's practically no criteria.

This topic is way overdue on this forum. But sometimes people may check back here, and not Distractionware, probably thinking the community has fallen apart. Not at all!

Nowadays we're all active on Discord, in our VVVVVV server: https://discord.gg/Zf7Nzea

Now, as for this forum, it's not going anywhere. Maybe there will be some more activity soon, since I'm thinking of starting a central page for Ved plugins, and this forum would be a logical place for discussion about individual plugins. Or perhaps we'll think of something else, who knows!

Sort of... Everyone's on Discord nowadays.

Either way, hi again!

You might notice signatures are no longer showing up under posts. They're not gone; they're still shown in profiles, and you can re-enable viewing all signatures in topics as well.

I came across a strange phenomenon where one page in a topic was being cut off inconsistently; the signatures some people (including myself) have with 20k characters of chatlogs within spoilers seem to play a role in it. During troubleshooting I had disabled signatures for a bit to check, and frankly I loved how clean everything looked without all the images and banners unrelated to the posts, so I applied this fix for all users.

The phenomenon seems otherwise harmless, so if you want to see all signatures under posts again, you can go to Profile > Modify Profile > Look and Layout and uncheck "Don't show users' signatures."

For those who haven't seen it yet: Ved 1.6.0 has been released!

There are some major new features, including a music editor, and many other things.

I thought the best way to show the most important changes was in a video, so enjoy:

Ved 1.5.0 has been released!

Again, some of the improvements in images:

The levels list now shows dates of last modification! (You can change the date and time formats in the language dialog).
The technical changes to the file-related functions have more effects that can be noticed on Windows: there are no more flashing command prompt windows, and if your account username or your level filenames use international characters or the like, everything should now work smoothly.

This image speaks for itself, and I'm planning to add more helpful features like this to the script editor!

As always, you can find the full list of changes here: https://tolp.nl/ved/download

Nowadays everyone only wants to talk on Discord, I guess. :shrug2:

As for this board, there has only been one recent "other game" by Terry that's big enough it's worth talking about: Dicey Dungeons, but that also has a Discord server.

I think it's kind of a shame that Discord causes such disuse of the forums, because forums definitely have their advantages over Discord. For example, everything on a forum can be customized incredibly well to a community's needs, while you can't even dream of changing Discord's code to add your own features to your server. You might be able to add features via a bot, but that can only make use of Discord's existing functions. (Want spoiler tags? Guess you'll have to wait a decade for Discord to decide to implement it, or use a bot that quickly removes a spoiler message and DM's you the message once you place a public reaction which is so clumsy. Want everyone to be able to quote messages? Haha, maybe just copy-paste the message out of context, or copy long message permalinks around which were also added pretty overdue. Want to have a better search feature, one that won't include tons of irrelevant search results for words that look almost like what you're searching for with no way to override it? Guess you're out of luck if you can't make a bot. Want to move a group of messages to a different channel? Hahaha, maybe just ask people to send further messages elsewhere. etc.) Plus Discord is another company which you just have to trust on their word that they're not spying on you. Aaaanyway.

(Have I expressed that opinion yet? I like a lot of aspects of Discord, but I also dislike certain ones, which I could list even more of.)

You've shared a WIP level on Discord, I think that level fits the criteria. So you can now contribute!

To become a contributor you need to show a level you made to demonstrate basic skills, but I'll make you a tester for now!

Well, it could use more activity. The VVVVVV Discord server is where most of the activity is nowadays.

Anyway, welcome!
