You decide to look around the rest of the Tower for things you can use to fight. After scouring through as many floors as you are able to get through, you find:
  • Half of a baseball bat
  • Half of a baseball hat
  • A water gun filled with urine
  • Two Wiimotes (with accessories)
  • A deck of Yu-Gi-Oh cards
  • And an atomic warhead

You've been hard-pressed to find any real weapons left over except for that last one, and you obviously can't use it. It would be suicide! But you hold onto it, just in case.

A. Run another search.
B. Arm yourself with a weapon and go to floor 4.
C. Dispose of the warhead somewhere safe.
D. See if the deck has any good cards in it.

Time for a new plan...

"Vermilion," You ask. "What should we do?"

"Well," he began. "Perhaps we don't have to fight him. Maybe we could trade him something for my dead body. A different corpse, perhaps?"

You start to think it over.

A. Take a peek around a graveyard with a shovel.
B. Go dumpster surfing in hopes of finding dead hobos in the garbage.
C. Never mind, you're already here.
D. The corpse is you!

E: Out of nowhere, realize that "I guess this fight is almost skeleDONE" is a better pun then "I guess this fight is almost BONE".
that was a long time ago okay
even i hated that one

Then B: A really cool plan.
You decide to make a plan first. A really cool plan.
1: Enter the elevator.
2: Go to floor 4
3: Fight the guy.
4: Profit.
This plan is so simple that it cannot possibly fail. Can it?

You push the button for floor 4. The doors close and you begin to go up.

"Uhh, Viridian?" Vermilion asked. "I'm having a few doubts about your plan."

A. Don't listen to him. This plan is great!
B. Time for a new plan...
C. Screw it. No plan. Figure out what to do the moment you're in danger.
D. Ask Vermilion what you should do.

"Hold up... You died a long time ago. Why did you only become a ghost just now?"

"Err... Honestly, I don't know. I died, of course, or I wouldn't be a ghost right now, but I can't remember the exact circumstances under which I died."

You decide not to fill him in. Death by crucifix is pretty traumatizing, and you need Vermilion stable.

"Any idea who wanted your body?"

"None at all. Do you?"

That evil clone Vermillion comes to mind. He might have been the one that nailed Vermilion up in the first place, and right now, he was your only suspect.

You walk inside The Tower. While you were talking to Vermilion, he got away. However, there's a set of muddy footprints leading into the elevator, and a speck of blood on the 4th elevator button.

A. Go to floor 4.
B. Make a plan first, then A.
C. Send Vermilion up to scout ahead.
D. Use crazy logic to figure out this mystery.

You run back over to the front entrance. Vermilion's body is gone, and a shimmery red blob is now floating in the air.

"Now, Viridian, don't be scared. It's only me. I'm a ghost now, and I saw some hooded figure drag my body into the building. We have to get it back!"

You find that the front doors are now unlocked.

A. Go inside.
B. Take the back entrance anyway.
C. "Any idea who wanted your body?"
D. "Hold up... You died a long time ago. Why did you only become a ghost just now?"

It's a shame, really.

You walk around to the back entrance of Tower. You turn the knob...

...and it's locked as well! What are you going to do now?

A. Try the front door again.
B. Run over to the adjacent tower.
C. Jump off a cliff.
D. Find a nearby steamroller, flatten your body, and slip under the door.

You try to fix the checkpoint, but find you are unable to. You don't know the first thing about a checkpoint's engineering. Frankly, you never questioned how the things were made, or why there were so many of them convieniently placed about the dimension. They could be magic, or operate on a far stranger principle.

You decide it's not safe to stick around, and you take off running. Dragging Vermilion's dead body along, you end up back at the entrance of the Tower. You try to open the door, but it's locked. Not again!

A. Use Vermilion as a battering ram.
B. Kindly ask the door to unlock itself.
C. Angrily yeet Vermilion through the second-story window.
D. Walk around to the back entrance.

You decide to leave The Tower and take Vermilion back to Dimension VVVVVV. Surely you should be able to find a checkpoint around here... right?

However, something unusual is happening since you've left. All of the checkpoints in the overworld are broken, the plating around the letter cracked and rusting. When you touch them, they don't light up and they don't save your progress. Something--or someone--has been wrecking them...

A. Run away! Not safe!
B. Look for working checkpoints elsewhere (the space station, the lab, the tower, etc.)
C. Try to fix a checkpoint.
D. Stand around doing nothing like a dumbass and see if anything happens while you wait.

you really screwed up this time viridian
It does, doesn't it?

You briefly mourn the loss of Vermilion, until you remember that you can just bring him to a checkpoint to revive him. At least, you hope you can. It's worth a shot.

You're not sure where you would find a checkpoint in The Tower. You can look for one in The Tower... or maybe it would be best to go to a dimension you're familiar with.

A. Leave Vermilion here until you find a checkpoint.
B. Drag Vermilion's body into the elevator and look for a checkpoint (pick a floor to search).
C. Leave The Tower and take Vermilion back to Dimension VVVVVV.
D. Go somewhere else (please specify).

You waited around too long, and Vermilion died of blood loss.

A. Mourn his loss.
B. Drag his body into the elevator to find a place to bury it.
C. Go find a defibrillator and try to bring him back to life.
D. Stick the wooden cross down your throat so you can die and be with him.

You decide to declare vengeance on whoever nailed Vermilion! Then you ask Vermilion where he wants to go.

"Oh, I don't know, a hospital maybe?" He says, staring at the pool of blood coming out of him as he lays on the floor.

A. Take him to the hospital.
B. Drag Vermilion into the elevator and look for a hospital.
C. Go find a hospital by yourself and come back for Vermilion later.
D. Lay down alongside him and make a snow angel, but in the blood.
